Impact and Reach

Over 7,000 AGU members list Hydrology as their primary section. Since 2019, H3S has served as the student and early career group for the section.

 

Below you'll find just some of our impact and reach statistics that highlight the influence H3S has had on the student/early career community within and outside of AGU.

Internal Membership

H3S has tripled in membership since its inception in 2019, and has an international reach with members from Morocco, India, Canada, and the U.K.

Professional Development

H3S has hosted an annual webinar series on various topics ranging from discussions on career development, to finding your niche and the importance of self branding. Viewership and attendance continue to grow year over year.

Conferences

Every year H3S organizes the "Building Your Network" town hall series and the Early Career Networking Trivia Night, both of which continue to be two of the most successful events geared towards students and early career scientists. H3S has also organized an innovative session on creative ways to communicate science, an exhibit hall booth, and summer research contest for free conference registration. 

JEDI

​H3S maintains the WaterPOC database, the AJEDI Resources Database, and has hosted 3 town halls on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for early career and students starting at the 2021 Fall Meeting. ​
